Maximising spring productivity is not simply about producing the largest possible honey crop. Colonies need to remain healthy and resilient throughout the season. Excessive intervention, poor nutrition or inadequate pest and disease management can undermine productivity later.

A productive spring begins with colonies that have been properly prepared, monitored and managed through the preceding months.
